Grit Additives: UDT Aggregate & Ultra Grip

What is the difference between UDT Aggregate and Ultra Grip?

Ultra Grip adds traction/slip resistance and also provides some extra durability. Because it is easier to work with than UDT Aggregate, Ultra Grip is recommended for first-time applicators or Do-It-Yourself projects.

  • Coarse Ultra Grip retains gloss and offers the greatest traction/slip resistance, and should be applied using the Rolling method.
  • Medium Ultra Grip tones EPIC® Gloss down to a semi-gloss, and can be applied using either the Rolling method or the T-Bar/Back-Roll method.
  • Fine Ultra Grip brings EPIC® Gloss down to a low gloss, and should be applied using the T-Bar/Back-Roll method.

UDT Aggregate adds traction/slip resistance and provides the most durability. However, the particles settle more readily in mixed EPIC®, so extra care should be taken to stir the mixture before each dip or pour, and not allow large pools or puddles of EPIC® to remain on the floor.
